Don’t make your resume, all about you. Getting confused? Since a resume is, by definition, “all about you,” – make sure your objective line is talking about people and not just you. 

Here is an example : 

Avoid objectives that are too self-centred, like, “I want to find a job where I can enhance my skills in marketing/finance/HR so I can, one day, lead a marketing/finance/HR team.” 

Instead, Make your objective about them and write, “I hope to use the skills I’ve developed in marketing/finance/HR to make “Company Name”  build a larger prospect funnel.” 

Making the Job About Advancing Your Career

Don’t make your resume, or your interview, all about you. That may seem strange, since a resume is, by definition, “all about you,” but I’m talking about statements people put under a heading like “Objective.”

Avoid objectives or stated goals that are too self-centred, like, “I want to find a job where I can advance my skills in marketing so I can, one day, lead a marketing team.” No matter how employee-focused a firm is, they’re hiring you to advance their mission and financial objectives.

Make your objective about them. Instead, write, “I hope to use the skills I’ve developed in marketing to make Acme.com build a larger prospect funnel.” That will be music to an interviewer’s ears.  And if you do your job well, you’ll get that promotion to lead a team in due course.

Appear to be impolite or disagreeable

Being aggressive and impolite is one of the most drawbacks of the applicants during the interview. Individuals who ought to be polite and agreeable in the interview are considered for the final admission cycle. 

Here are a few suggestions: 

• Dress appropriately
• Always Arrive 15 minutes before the allocated time.
