On 18th December, 2019, Delhi, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NHA, Govt. at its headquarters in New Delhi, India, for SAIL Hospitals under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY). Currently, 14 numbers of SAIL hospitals / healthcare units located at different locations such as Bhilai, Bokaro, Rourkela, Durgapur, Burnpur, and so on will extend coverage to a larger section of the population in those regions. With this MoU, PM-JAY beneficiaries will be able to take cashless treatment at SAIL hospitals in accordance with the Scheme’s terms and conditions.
Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, India’s flagship healthcare program, provides over 50 crore poor and vulnerable people with a coverage of Rs. 5.0 Lakhs per family per year. This is a Government of India flagship initiative to ensure universal access to good quality health care facilities for the country’s poor population. This MoU is an effort to increase PM-JAY’s scope, allowing SAIL to extend its medical facilities reach to more people around its plant and unit sites.
This MoU was signed by Shri Gautam Bhatia, Chief General Manager, SAIL and Dr Jitulal Meena, General Manager (Hospital Networking & Quality Assurance), NHA, PMJAY, in the presence of Shri Atul Srivastava, Director (Personnel), SAIL and Shri KK Singh, ED (P&A), SAIL. A host of other SAIL and NHA officials also attended the occasion.
