Havells India And Tata Power-ddl Signs MoU To Improve Safety

On september 25 2019, Delhi, Havells India and TATA Power-DDL today signed an MoU to improve the distribution of electrical security equipment in the north and northwest parts of Delhi to ensure users ‘ safety from the hazards of electrical leakage. In addition, both companies also planned a comprehensive program of awareness and training to encourage the proper installation of circuit protection devices –ELCB and MCB. Mr. Sanjay Banga, CEO, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. and Mr. Saurabh Goel, President, Havells India Ltd. attended the signing ceremony of the MoU.

The synergy between the leading electrical distribution company and the country’s leading electrical brand will ensure security from electrical hazards.

According to Sanjay Banga, CEO, TPDDL- He said Tata Power-DDL is committed to consumer safety and has joined Havells in drastically reducing electricity-related accidents that lead to loss of life and property. He advises all consumers to install in their homes / locations a suitable earth leakage safety system. They will also be sensitizing consumers and organizing local electricians ‘ training on the value and implementation of safe technology to further enhance the need for electricity safety.

In maintaining human safety, ELCBs are extremely critical because they shield us from current leakage. We are now surrounded by electrical devices and most of us are not aware of the hazards that arise due to the lack of adequate protective devices that are not being used. Over the past decade, Delhi has reported highest electrical-related deaths. Deploying Miniature CircuitBreakers(MCB) is the most common practice to ensure short-circuit and overload safety of electrical devices. However, when it comes to current leakage, MCB does not provide users with protection.

According to the Regulatory Guidelines (DERC), ELCB is a must since no new link will be energized in Delhi unless a suitable earth leakage safety system is built in consumer premises.

According to Mr. Saurabh Goel, President, Havells India Ltd- Commenting on the partnership he said that They are extremely pleased to partner with Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd in their distribution area for the distribution of electrical safety products. As a responsible company, Havells also prioritizes customer protection and is therefore the only company to provide a 6-year warranty for Miniature Circuit Breakers (MCB) and Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB / RCCB) when used in combination with Havells Distribution Board. The association will enable them to make consumers aware of the need to implement the best in class safety tools in their homes and together they will make sure consumers are aware of the use of Earth-Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) through TATA Power-DDL Customer Care Centers.

Havells plans to meet an average of 6,000 customers applying for new connections per month along with 17 residential and industrial users of Tata Power-DDL. Havells ‘ primary focus is on human safety devices like Residual Current Circuit Breaker (ELCB / RCCB), RCD and Portable Residual Current Device (RCD).

As a power distribution company for North and North-West Delhi, Tata Power-DDL works closely with electricians, Resident Welfare Associations and Industrial Welfare Associations to raise awareness of various good installation and use practices. Due to short circuits, overload, current leakage and voltage fluctuations, usually electrical problems are caused. Necessary precautions such as 30mA sensitivity ELCB / RCCB must be taken in order to prevent any such risks from harming human life.

The Electrical Leakage Circuit Breaker (ELCB) will be made available at a subsidized price at all 12 Tata Power-DDL Customer Care Centers from October 1st, 2019
